Day 1: Settle In and Soak It Up
Afternoon:
Arrive and unwind with a drink on the deck. Let the mountain air set the tone for the weekend.
Take a short drive (less than 8 mins) to Lake Laura— to walk the picturesque 2 mile trail around the water to stretch your legs and work up an appetite for dinner.
Stop by the Community Store to stock up on snacks and firewood for the outdoor firepit.
Evening:
Enjoy dinner at a local favorite: Rhouse Wine & Cafe for incredible food (European with a Latin Fire) and cozy. Keep in mind they are only open Thursday-Saturday. The Copper Kettle is also a great option that has happy hour from 4-6pm on weekdays and is only closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. For a dinner in, pick up some Detroit style pizza from nearby Pale Fire Brewing, or stay for a couple local beers before you go.
Back at the chalet, light up the firepit and toast marshmallows under the stars.
Day 2: Mountains, Lift Rides, and Date Night
Morning:
Whip up a slow breakfast in the chalet kitchen.
Head to Bryce Resort for a mix of light adventure:
Hit the green for a round of golf
Try a new version of a classic sport: Fling Golf
Soak in the views on a scenic 10 minute lift ride.
Afternoon:
Relax by Lake Laura with a picnic lunch— if you’re still feeling adventurous, you can rent kayaks, canoes, tubes and paddle boats. Or opt for a more relaxing experience and just swim, read, and float the day away.
Cool off back at the chalet with a nap before dinner.
Evening:
Make a reservation for Dinner on the Mountain (do this in advance as tickets sell out quickly)—a scenic lift ride followed by an open-air meal with panoramic views.
If Dinner on the Mountain isn’t an option, pack your own! We love Lake Laura at sunset, it gets very quiet after 6pm perfect for a romantic lakeside picnic.
Return for a peaceful night on the porch with a bottle of wine and no plans beyond watching the stars.
Day 3: Local Flavors and Valley Views
Morning:
Hike Kennedy Peak or opt for a gentler trail nearby with beautiful outlooks over the valley.
Prefer something more low-key? Take a little drive (30 mins) to explore the small town vibes in Woodstock. We highly recommend lunch at the cozy Woodstock Garden Cafe and stopping by the picturesque and award-winning Muse Vineyards, which has some easier walking paths and is also near the beautiful Seven Bends State Park.
Afternoon:
To continue your wine tour visit Cave Ridge or Wolf Gap Vineyard on your way back to the cabin.
If pizza and beer is more your vibe, Swover Creek Farms Brewery has got it all, in addition to disc golf and even a dog park.
Pick up picnic items for your final night in: local cheeses, charcuterie, and maybe a bottle from your tasting.
Evening:
Fire up the grill at the chalet or enjoy a slow, cozy dinner inside.
Set the vibe with a record on the record player and wrap up the night with a board game, a good book, or simply listening to the sounds of the mountains.
