Please read the below instructions carefully to make your check-in process and stay at the cabin as smooth as possible.
Enjoy your stay, and don’t hesitate to reach out if any questions arise.

Your Stay

  • Check-in is at 4:00 pm on. Let us know when you will be arriving and we look forward to having you!

  • 454 Brawley Lane, Mount Jackson, VA, USA

    If Mount Jackson (city) doesn't work on your GPS, you can put Basye for the city. Either one works for the address!

  • Use your unique 4-digit code (last 4 digits of your phone number) on the smart keypad!

    To lock the door, simply enter your 4-digit code. The door doesn’t automatically lock.

    For Airbnb bookings:
    Use your unique access code from the Airbnb Booking Details section (confirmation email or Airbnb app/website) on the smart keypad on the front door!

  • Please bring your firewood with you if you’re planning on using the fireplace and outdoor firepit.

    Firewood can be purchased from the Community store (5mins from the cabin).

  • Please bring your own charcoal with you if you plan to use the grill.

  • One of our favorite times to enjoy the cabin is in the winter months, but winter precipitation can make the roads a bit challenging, so we highly recommend making the trip in a 4-wheel-drive vehicle on those snowy days for your own safety and comfort.

    For your own safety during these conditions, don't attempt to drive up the driveway to the cabin. Park the cars below the driveway, where there's room for 2 cars.

  • We have an Ecobee smart thermostat that controls our central AC/Heating

  • The cabin is located on a small private road that goes up the mountain, off of Brawley Ln, at 454 Brawley Ln, Mount Jackson, VA.

    Once your GPS brings you to the address, take a turn on a small private road/driveway up a hill off Brawley Ln. Once you drive up the driveway, you'll see the house on your left-hand side. A charming grey house.

  • We have ample parking for 4 cars

    In the case of inclement weather, such as snow or ice, don't attempt to drive up the driveway to avoid slipping and accidents. We strongly encourage you to park below the driveway, where there is space for 2 cars.

  • While we love the mountain views, this also means that there may be spotty cell service at points when you are driving around. The cabin itself is equipped with fast and reliable Wi-Fi, but just in case, we recommend downloading the surrounding area on Google Maps (offline) to ensure you aren't relying on spotty service.

  • Circuit Breaker:
    Located in the laundry closet downstairs

    Located in one of the kitchen cabinet drawers (the one outside of the kitchen island) by the dining table

    Emergencies:
    Dial 911 in case of fire or other emergencies. After everyone is safe, please contact us in the event of a fire or any major issues.

  • Please make sure all trash including recyclables are bagged, tied and there is no loose trash in or around the bins. There's a $100 fine for loose trash.

    Also be mindful that the animals are out & about in search of a good buffet, so please take extra precautions to try and keep the animals out of the trash.

  • We have a drip coffee maker, a Keurig, and a French press that you are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of for your morning (or whenever your craving hits) cup of coffee.

  • To use the fireplace on the upper level, open the chimney pipe before lighting up logs in the fireplace by turning the chimney flue/knob vertically. Once you’re done using the fireplace, turn the flue horizontally to close the chimney pipe.

  • To light the string lights around the fire pit, use the light switch on the lower-level patio.

  • We have a smart TV.

  • We kindly ask you to read our house rules carefully and keep them in mind during your stay.

    • Care for the cabin as if it were your own. It will love you back. :)

    • No unauthorized parties

    • No extra guests are allowed to stay over (only registered guests are allowed)

    • Please pick up your dog waste when you’re at and around the property

    • No shoes in the house please

    • No smoking and use of illegal drugs allowed

    • No open flames or candles

    • We ask our guests to respect our neighbors while coming and going, especially after 10:00 pm.

    • Checkout time is 11 am unless otherwise arranged.

    Relax and have a great stay!

  • If you end up using the sleeper sofa, the bedsheets and sets of towels can be found in a basket under the office desk.

  • For the families who are traveling with their infants and toddlers:

    • The pack-and-play from 4 Moms, high chair, and baby bath are stored in the laundry closet (lower level of the house)

    • Please wipe and sanitize these items before using for your own kids' safety

    • The baby changing table can be located inside the closet of one of upper-floor bedrooms (the one with an antler chandelier)

    • The top of stairs baby gate is also stored in the same closet as the changing table

  • For families traveling with their pets:

    • There is a dog crate on the lower level of the cabin by the black leather couch

    • You can find small and large size pet bowls on the floor of the big dish closet inside the kitchen.

  • Don't leave food and trash out on the deck to prevent wild animals from getting onto the deck at night time.

  • Washer and Dryer are inside the laundry closet on the lower level of the house.

  • The grill is a charcoal grill and is located by the fire pit. Please bring your own charcoal if you plan on using it.

Check Out

  • Checkout time is 11 am unless otherwise arranged. We hope you had a wonderful stay!

  • Before you go, please take care of a few things so we can ready the property for our next guests.

    • Place used dishes in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher. You can find dishwasher detergent under the sink.

    • Please leave used towels on the bathroom floors.

    • Please strip the beds and place the dirty linens on the bedroom floors.

    • If you use pack and play, baby bath, or high chair, please make sure to clean them and put them back where you found them (inside the laundry closet).

    • Rearrange any/all furniture back to its original position upon check-out.

    • Discard trash in large dumpsters outside. Please make sure there’s no loose trash. All trash has to be bagged. The trash bins are on Brawley Ln right when you take a turn to drive up the driveway. Failure to comply will unfortunately result in a $100 fine.

    • Close all windows and lock all doors.

    • Turn off lights.

    • Notify the owner of your departure.

    • Safe travels, and come back again soon!
